After earning his BA in History from Utrecht University in the Netherlands, Jurriaan moved to London to study for an MA and a PhD in History at University College London (UCL), focusing on literature, political ideas and national identity in eighteenth-century Britain. He taught undergraduates at UCL and at Boston University’s study abroad programme, before joining Brighton College as a history teacher, where he worked for seven years. Here, he guided students applying to UK and US universities and colleges, relishing the opportunity to help them navigate their future education paths and choices. Jurriaan is a published author in several books of edited essays and academic journals. As a writing advisor, he is passionate about encouraging students to present and express the most authentic, unique and first-class versions of themselves, bringing to the fore his pastoral and teaching skills to help students develop their ideas and writing
